Editorial Process
At GPEL, we are committed to a transparent, ethical, and academically rigorous editorial process. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a structured evaluation to ensure scholarly excellence, ethical compliance, and disciplinary relevance.
1. Manuscript Submission All manuscripts must be submitted through the official GPEL submission portal. Submissions must strictly adhere to the journal’s author guidelines regarding formatting, referencing, and ethical requirements.
2. Initial Screening and Plagiarism Check The editorial office conducts a preliminary screening to ensure that the manuscript:
-
Falls within the journal's educational and pedagogical scope.
-
Meets ethical standards, including institutional approvals.
-
Passes plagiarism detection (Turnitin index must be <15%).
3. Assignment to Section Editor Eligible manuscripts are assigned to a Section Editor based on the subject matter (e.g., Curriculum Design, Teacher Training). The editor evaluates the manuscript for relevance, originality, and methodological soundness.
4. Double-Blind Peer Review At least two independent reviewers evaluate each submission anonymously based on research design, literature engagement, and relevance to the field of education.
5. Reviewer Recommendations Reviewers recommend: Accept as is, Minor revisions, Major revisions, or Reject.
6. Editorial Decision The Section Editor makes a final decision based on reviewer reports. Authors receive an official letter with anonymized comments.
7. Author Revisions Authors must provide a point-by-point response to comments. The paper may undergo a second round of review if necessary.
8. Final Acceptance Once revisions satisfy all expectations, a final acceptance letter is issued.
9. Copyediting and Proofreading Accepted manuscripts are edited for clarity and formatting. Authors approve final proofs before publication.
10. Online Publication The article is published in the upcoming issue and made available online via open access.
11. Post-Publication Dissemination GPEL promotes articles through academic indexing, newsletters, and citation alerts to maximize impact.
