Decision-Making Process
At KIKKR, we maintain a rigorous and transparent editorial process to ensure that regional innovations and scholarly contributions meet global standards of excellence.
1. Initial Submission Screening
-
Technical Check: Screening for regional relevance, formatting, and a 15% similarity threshold via Turnitin.
-
Scope Review: The Editor-in-Chief determines if the manuscript offers original knowledge regarding regional development, culture, or innovation.
2. Peer Review Process
-
Reviewer Assignment: Double-blind review by two or more independent experts familiar with the regional or thematic context.
-
Criteria: Originality, methodological rigor, and contribution to the regional knowledge base.
3. Editorial Evaluation and Final Decision
-
Synthesis: The handling editor reconciles reviewer feedback. A third reviewer is consulted if evaluations are inconclusive.
-
Outcome: Final decision (Accept, Revisions, or Reject) is issued by the Editor-in-Chief.
4. Revisions and Resubmission
-
Timelines: 2–3 weeks for minor adjustments; 4–6 weeks for substantial revisions.
5. Communication and Appeals
-
Appeals: Formal written appeals must include a detailed justification and are reviewed by an independent panel.
