Plagiarism Policy

Arts and Linguistics Perspectives (ALP) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing practices. The journal follows a strict zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism in all its forms, ensuring that only original and properly attributed scholarly work is published.

Plagiarism is considered a serious violation of academic ethics and includes the use of someone else’s ideas, words, data, or creative work without appropriate acknowledgment. This applies to all forms of content, including text, tables, figures, and conceptual frameworks.

Similarity Screening Policy

All submitted manuscripts are subjected to a plagiarism detection process using advanced similarity-checking software (e.g., Turnitin) before the peer review stage.

  • Maximum acceptable similarity index: 10%
  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be:
    • Returned to authors for revision, or
    • Rejected outright depending on the level of similarity and academic misconduct

The journal places strong emphasis on originality and expects authors to ensure proper citation and referencing of all sources used.

Forms of Plagiarism

ALP strictly monitors and does not tolerate the following practices:

  • Direct copying of text without citation
  • Paraphrasing without proper acknowledgment
  • Self-plagiarism (reuse of previously published work without disclosure)
  • Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism
  • Improper or missing citations
  • Use of AI-generated or unoriginal content presented as human-authored work

AI-Generated Content Policy

The use of AI tools to generate or heavily produce manuscript content is strictly discouraged. Submissions must represent original human intellectual contribution. Any manuscript found to contain AI-generated content without proper disclosure may be rejected at any stage of the review process, including after acceptance.

Limited use of digital tools for grammar correction or language improvement may be acceptable, provided the scholarly content remains fully original.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism or unethical practices are identified:

  • Before publication: Immediate rejection of the manuscript
  • After publication: Retraction of the article with formal notice
  • Additional actions may include:
    • Ban on future submissions
    • Notification to affiliated institutions in severe cases

Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their work is original, properly cited, and free from any form of academic misconduct. By submitting to ALP, authors confirm compliance with all ethical publishing standards of the journal.
