Correction & Retraction Policy

Arts and Linguistics Perspectives (ALP) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal ensures that all published content remains trustworthy and up to date, particularly in the fields of arts, language, and linguistics where research contributes to academic and cultural understanding.

In cases where errors, inaccuracies, or ethical concerns are identified after publication, ALP follows a transparent and structured correction and retraction process in line with international publishing standards.

1. Correction Policy

The journal issues formal corrections when errors are identified in a published article that may affect clarity, interpretation, or accuracy but do not compromise the overall validity of the research findings.

Corrections are categorized as follows:

  • Erratum: Issued for errors introduced during the publication process, such as typographical mistakes, formatting issues, author details, or metadata errors that do not affect the scientific or academic conclusions of the article.
  • Corrigendum: Issued when authors identify errors in their published work, such as minor data corrections, textual inaccuracies, or clarification of interpretations that may improve understanding but do not invalidate the study.

Procedure:
All reported errors are reviewed by the editorial team. If a correction is deemed necessary, a formal correction notice is published and permanently linked to the original article to ensure transparency and academic integrity.

2. Retraction Policy

Retractions are issued when a published article is found to contain serious issues that invalidate its findings or violate ethical publishing standards.

A manuscript may be retracted in cases involving:

  • Research Misconduct: Including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices
  • Ethical Violations: Such as lack of required permissions, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or violation of research ethics
  • Major Methodological Errors: Critical flaws in research design or analysis that render conclusions unreliable or invalid

Procedure:
Retraction decisions are made following a thorough editorial investigation and in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. Authors may be contacted for clarification before a final decision is made.

Retracted articles will remain accessible in the journal archive for transparency but will be clearly marked as “RETRACTED” on all versions of the publication.

3. Transparency and Academic Integrity

ALP ensures that all post-publication changes are handled transparently. Any correction or retraction is permanently linked to the original article to preserve the integrity of the academic record and maintain trust in the journal’s publication process.
