ALP ensures a structured pathway for authors to voice concerns regarding editorial outcomes in the humanities and linguistics.

1. Grounds for Appeal

  • Factual errors in linguistic analysis provided by reviewers.

  • Misunderstanding of the theoretical or artistic framework.

  • Conflicts of interest affecting the double-blind process.

2. Submission

  • Appeals must be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief within 20 days, including specific references to the comments in question.

3. Review Process

  • Initial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief.

  • Potential consultation with a third-party expert in the specific sub-field (e.g., Phonology or Art History).

4. Timeline: Confirmation of receipt within 5 days; resolution typically within 4–8 weeks.

5. Ethics: If procedural violations are found, the manuscript may be reassigned to a new review team.
