Peer Review Policy

Arts and Linguistics Perspectives (ALP) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, and integrity of all published research. The journal is committed to maintaining high scholarly standards in the fields of arts, language, and linguistics through a fair, unbiased, and transparent review system.

1. Review Model

ALP operates under a double-blind peer review system, in which:

  • The identity of the authors is kept anonymous from reviewers
  • The identity of the reviewers is kept anonymous from authors

This process ensures that manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, clarity, and contribution to the field, without any form of bias or influence.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to assess:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope in arts and linguistics
  • Compliance with submission guidelines and formatting requirements
  • Basic academic quality, structure, and language clarity
  • Plagiarism and similarity index check
  • Ethical compliance requirements

Manuscripts that do not meet the minimum standards may be rejected at the desk review stage without external peer review.

3. External Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant subject expertise.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Theoretical contribution and critical depth
  • Methodological soundness (where applicable)
  • Clarity of arguments and academic writing quality
  • Relevance to arts, linguistics, and related disciplines
  • Proper use of references and scholarly sources

Based on reviewer feedback, the editorial decision may be:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

4. Review Timeline

ALP is committed to an efficient and timely review process:

  • 2 to 4 weeks for initial peer review feedback
  • Additional time may be required depending on the extent of revisions and author response

5. Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts
  • Identify relevant missing literature or citations
  • Report any ethical concerns, plagiarism, or duplication
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest and decline review if necessary

6. Editorial Decision

Final publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editorial board member, based on reviewer recommendations and editorial evaluation. The decision is final and ensures fairness, transparency, and academic integrity.

7. Confidentiality and Ethics

All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not use unpublished material for personal research purposes or share it with unauthorized individuals under any circumstances.
