Decision-Making Process

JSSCS ensures a systematic evaluation of sociological research through an ethical and inclusive decision-making framework.

1. Initial Submission Screening

  • Preliminary Check: Screening for sociological scope, author declarations, and the 15% similarity threshold.

  • Ethical Approval: Verification of informed consent statements for community-based studies.

2. Peer Review Process

  • Assignment: Double-blind review by two or more subject experts in sociology or community studies.

  • Criteria: Ethnographic depth, theoretical relevance to social structures, and ethical rigor.

3. Editorial Evaluation and Final Decision

  • Synthesis: The editor reviews peer comments and provides a synthesized feedback report to the author.

4. Revisions and Resubmission

  • Rigor: Revised manuscripts may be sent for another round of review to ensure social analysis concerns are fully met.

5. Communication and Appeals

  • Process: Appeals are reviewed by an independent board member to maintain transparency and fairness.
