Author Appeals Policy
JSSCS ensures that sociological research is judged fairly by providing a formal mechanism for authors to contest editorial decisions.
1. Grounds for Appeal
-
Misinterpretation of ethnographic data, social structures, or community dynamics.
-
Reviewer feedback containing factual inaccuracies that influenced the rejection.
-
Documented evidence of reviewer bias or undisclosed conflicts of interest.
2. Submission
-
Formal written appeal addressed to the Editor-in-Chief within 20 days of the decision notification.
3. Review Process
-
The Editor-in-Chief reviews the appeal and may seek a third-party opinion from a senior sociologist on the board.
4. Ethical Considerations: If the appeal raises concerns of social or institutional bias, the matter is referred to the Ethics Committee for investigation.
