Author Appeals Policy
At URSDJ, we prioritize academic fairness in the study of spatial and social transformations. This policy provides a formal pathway for authors to contest decisions they believe were reached through error or bias.
1. Valid Grounds for Appeal
-
Misinterpretation: The decision was based on a misunderstanding of the urban/rural data or the social dynamics presented.
-
Factual Inaccuracy: Reviewer feedback contained demonstrable factual errors regarding regional planning or sociological frameworks.
-
Procedural Error: Evidence of reviewer bias or a failure to follow the double-blind protocol.
2. Submitting an Appeal
-
Timeframe: Within 20 calendar days of notification.
-
Format: A formal written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief, citing specific reviewer comments and providing supporting evidence or corrected data.
3. Review and Resolution
-
The Editor-in-Chief assesses the appeal and may consult a neutral board member or an independent expert in spatial dynamics.
-
Outcomes: Uphold the original rejection, invite a revised resubmission, or accept the manuscript.
4. Finality: Only one appeal per manuscript is permitted. The decision of the appeals review is final.
