Correction & Retraction Policy

Trauma and Psychological Therapies (TPT) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal ensures that all published content remains transparent and trustworthy, particularly in the fields of psychology, mental health, and therapeutic research.

In cases where errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, TPT follows a structured and transparent correction and retraction process in accordance with recognized international publishing standards.

1. Correction Policy

Corrections are issued when errors are identified in a published article that may affect clarity, interpretation, or accuracy but do not compromise the overall validity of the research.

Corrections are categorized as:

  • Erratum: Issued for errors introduced during the publication process, such as typographical mistakes, formatting issues, or metadata inaccuracies that do not affect the study’s conclusions.
  • Corrigendum: Issued when authors identify errors in their published work, including minor data corrections, textual clarifications, or interpretation improvements that enhance understanding but do not invalidate the research.

Procedure:
All reported errors are reviewed by the editorial team. If a correction is required, a formal correction notice is published and permanently linked to the original article to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the academic record.

2. Retraction Policy

Retractions are issued when a published article is found to contain serious issues that compromise its validity or violate ethical publishing standards.

A manuscript may be retracted in cases involving:

  • Research Misconduct: Including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices
  • Ethical Violations: Such as lack of required approvals, absence of informed consent, or undisclosed conflicts of interest
  • Major Methodological Errors: Fundamental flaws in study design or analysis that render findings unreliable or invalid

Procedure:
Retraction decisions are made following a thorough editorial review and in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. Authors may be contacted for clarification before a final decision is made.

Retracted articles will remain accessible in the journal archive for transparency but will be clearly marked as “RETRACTED” on all versions of the publication.

TPT ensures that all post-publication updates are handled transparently. Any correction or retraction notice is permanently linked to the original article to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record and maintain trust in the journal’s publication process.
