Author Appeals Policy
CCE upholds rigorous standards, but provides this policy to ensure genuine concerns regarding environmental data interpretation are heard.
1. Grounds for Appeal
-
Reviewer misinterpretation of climate models or ecological data.
-
Evidence of bias or unreported conflicts of interest.
-
Procedural errors during the technical review phase.
2. Submission
-
Authors must provide a formal appeal with supporting evidence or corrected data within 20 days.
3. Review Process
-
The Editor-in-Chief may seek advice from an ethics advisor or a neutral board member specializing in the relevant environmental discipline.
4. Limitations: Submitting an appeal does not guarantee a reversal. Repetitive or baseless appeals will not be considered.
5. Communication: Resolution is generally achieved within 4–8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the climate data involved.
